Lingual braces

Short description

"Lingual braces are a complex orthodontic device for correcting the dentition and bite, which is attached to the inside of the teeth. The appearance of lingual braces helped those who were shy of massive structures in their mouths or, for whatever reason, had to hide the fact of correction. The principle of operation is the same as that of vestibular structures.

Lingual braces consist of:

  • plates (braces) that are attached to the surface of the crown;
  • an arc that ensures alignment of the series due to the elastic properties of the metal with a programmed memory;
  • ligatures, holding the arc in the grooves of the plates;
  • rings covering the extreme teeth of the row and fixing the entire apparatus in a given position;
  • locks that can be installed instead of rings, depending on the readings;
  • elastics made of elastic traction material, which create an additional effect on individual units of the dentition or used for correction of malocclusion;
  • hooks for which elastic and other traction options are fixed.

The teeth are mobile and can move due to the tension of the elastic plate and elastics. The doctor corrects this movement by changing arcs with different degrees of elasticity and adding / removing elastic.

"Apparatus installation Lingual braces whose photos demonstrate their invisibility, have certain difficulties in installation. Due to the fact that they are attached from the inside, the orthodontist has to work literally by touch. This requires specialists to certain skills, great experience and high qualifications. Therefore, some dental institutions do not provide this type of service.

"At 'Sa-Nat' Clinic, lingual braces can be delivered quickly, professionally and at an affordable price. Thanks to the improvement of diagnostic equipment and the capabilities of computer simulation, lingual braces are installed with great accuracy. Mathematical models of the movement of teeth and nerve endings are being developed to reduce pain and speed up the correction process.

The patient can see in advance all the stages and details of the treatment, its final result. Before the doctor establishes the design, it is necessary to undergo a complete diagnosis, which is carried out using a dental tomograph for 3D or 2D examination. The image obtained thanks to digital technologies is voluminous, it can be rotated, which significantly expands the overview.

The next step is to accurately establish the lingual bracket of the system and calculate the necessary arc tension and pressure exerted on each unit of the dentition - the production of a plaster cast. On its basis, braces are created that take into account the individual characteristics of the surface of the crown. The system is fixed on the model of the patient’s dentition, which facilitates its subsequent installation.

During the time (about 3 weeks), while the lingual braces system is made in the laboratory, the doctor performs a complete sanitation of the oral cavity, as gum and tooth diseases can worsen during the period of wearing the device. After all dental problems have been resolved, and the lingual bracket system is ready, the doctor, using a special composition, fixes the plates on the inner surface of each unit individually and inserts an arc into the grooves, fixing it with locks. Bracket lingual system is ligature and ligatureless (self-ligating).

The latter has a big plus - the patient needs to visit a doctor only every 2 months to correct and monitor the condition. Device advantages Lingual braces, in addition to the main advantage - invisibility, have other advantages: only this type of staples helps correct a deep bite: do not injure the mucous membrane of the lips, cheeks, gums; does not destroy enamel, since on the inner surface it is thicker; even if pieces of food get stuck in the system, they will not be visible to others; no need to splurge on transparent plates and mounts that are expensive.

Linguistic braces, or rather linguistic braces, are more expensive than vestibular braces, but their advantages have made them more popular. Many media people use a lingual bracket so as not to spoil their appearance during treatment.

In the Clinic, "Sa Nata" it can be installed the "Incognito" system from the famous German company from a gold-containing alloy, which is necessary for people with allergies to certain types of metal structures.
