Gnathology is the science that studies the stomatognathic system, including the teeth, jawbones, muscles, ligaments, tongue, temporomandibular joint, and nerves, as well as their interaction with the body. It helps identify the causes of tooth pain and discomfort that are not related to obvious dental or gum problems and considers the influence of posture, breathing, and habits on the functioning of the masticatory system.
